Former GOP boss Jim Greer's tell-all book coming June 1? (FL)
In fact, in Greer's mind (and apparently the mind of veteran author Peter Golenbock), Greer's story is akin to a Shakespearean tragedy. Those are actually the words used in the book plug ... "a Shakespearean tale of friendship and betrayal to rival Hamlet, is the harrowing story of Jim Greer, a man loyal to a fault to Florida governor Charlie Crist, his benefactor."
Greer said that he suffered "the onslaught of the Tea Party wing" and then watched "as Crist stabbed him in the back."
Still, Crist may not be the only target of Greer's prison-seasoned ire. (Available for pre-sale purchase for $23.62) In fact, powerful Republicans who worked closely with Greer are said to be as antsy as Crist. After all, Greer did their bidding at a time when everyone from Marco Rubio to Dean Cannon was living high on the GOP credit cards -- raising questions galore about how they were spending money and who was footing the bill.
Still, without proof to back up his accusations, the whole thing may read more like sour grapes than an expose. After all, even before Greer was a convict, he was a national joke. (Remember when he tried to stop Barack Obama from speaking to students, accusing the president of "indoctrination"?
