My father participated in a military honors ceremony for a local returning vet. And of course, King was there to poke his nose into the affair. After the ceremony, one of Steve King's handlers was shocked when my Father said, "Absolutely NOT" to posing with King and the young soldier. Dad would stand with the soldier but not King.

Iowa GOP Senate Candidates Vow To Block Judges Who Won't Follow 'Biblical' Law
Submitted by Miranda Blue on Monday, 4/28/2014 3:08 pm
The Iowa-based Religious Right group The Family Leader held a forum for Republican US Senate candidates on Friday, at which the groups view that God instituted government figured heavily. In fact, nearly every candidate at the debate vowed that if they were to be elected to the Senate they would block federal judicial nominees who do not follow what they perceive as natural law or a biblical view of justice. Bob Vander Plaats, head of The Family Leader, opened the forum by declaring, At The Family Leader, we believe God has three institutions: It would be the church, the family, and government. He warned that policies such as legal abortion and marriage equality would cause God to cease blessing the country. As we have a culture that runs further and further from Gods principles, His precepts, from Gods heart, its only natural consequences that were going to suffer, he said.
