Boehner's Teabagger opponent loses day job for "Electile Dysfunction" ad

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/j-d-winteregg-boehner-primary-opponent-cedarville-university

House Speaker John Boehner's (R-OH) primary challenger has lost his job as an adjunct professor at a small Christian university in Cedarville, Ohio over an ad in which the challenger, J.D. Winteregg, said Boehner suffers from "electile dysfunction."

Winteregg had been an adjunct professor at Cedarville University in Ohio over the past three years. He finished teaching his last class and, according to the university, is not scheduled to teach any future classes.

"Cedarville University does not engage in partisan politics and holds a high regard for displaying Christian values in the community," the statement from Cedarville University said. "When faculty or staff members participate in political conversations, interviews, advertisements, or endorsements, they are doing so as individual citizens. Mr. Winteregg in his recent political campaign video did not represent the views or values of Cedarville University."

Which is it? Are they doing so as individual citizens or are they representing the University and thus need to mind their Ps and Qs from that standpoint?

The University seems to want to have it both ways.

was that supposed to mean? It makes no sense.

And, being originally from Ohio, I know that Cedarville is not, in any way, the paragon of virtue they're claiming to be here. And, although I am completely, utterly and diametrically opposed to everything teabaggers believe and stand for, I can't help but be really disturbed by the university's dumping of this guy for expressing a political opinion they didn't like or in a manner they didn't like. I don't like it when it happens to liberals and I don't like it when it happens to conservatives. I don't like it when it happens to anyone just for their political opinions. That's heading down a dangerous slippery slope. We get all up in arms here when it happens to liberals, let's put our money where our mouths are and give that same consideration to others.
