I'm officially scared. Electricity out 5 minutes ago. Trying to post using first ever cell phone. Worst seems to be (temporarily over. Wish me luck!
8:07pm electricity is back, almost out of the danger area. Looks like we're good for the night before part II arrives tomorrow.

(111,267 posts)because you're in the safest spot in your house while the tornado stays over fields and leaves you alone.
Stay as safe as possible!

(1,979 posts)get the cushions off the couch, bring pillows and blankets, water, flashlight, candles, etc. I lived in Memphis for years and had tornados come right down my street. Listen to your news/weather forecaster and stay SAFE.
You are in my thoughts, take care!
Annette (now in Orlando..)

Prayers, hopes and best wishes to you, Rowdyboy and to my family members and other family members of DUers right smack in the middle of this.

(22,057 posts)All my friends in Tupelo are okay but the best damn pizzeria in the state was destroyed-Vanelli's. I know the brothers that run it-six weeks from now they'll be back in business.

(22,057 posts)More serious than your average hell on earth. Hell we had 100 mile per hour winds here and I'm 2 1/2 hours inland! I can't imagine the nightmare the coast must have been.

(39,961 posts)but I am so worried about my cousin with his wife and new baby (and son) I could scream. I can't get any information. My Uncle and his wife are there along with my other cousin and her husband.
God I sound like a redneck. I love my family, and we are firm Southerners, but one owns liberal radio stations, one is a physician, one is attempting to start a community agricultural area and one is a weirdo that does all three but is in IT.
I got locked out of the thread because I was mocked and simply pointed to a person's signature. Mocking people in a disaster is a lesser crime than pointing out that a person's signature might tell them something while the MOCKED people in a natural disaster?

(22,057 posts)Its gonna be bad again today but we're just outside the danger area so hopefully there'll be a lot less drama.
Thanks for asking. DU has a wonderful ability to drop arguments and come together to support each other in times of crisis. The support meant a lot to me.
