Sitting here in Seattle watching in horror as a whole lot of my Mississippi relatives are in real danger. My cousin lost her house (they're okay, hid in a shelter) but my sister in Jackson is full on in the path and my nephew just posted some video that he took that scared the hell out of me just to watch.
I hate this shit.
Send out good thoughts, guys. I'm really, really worried.

(6,115 posts)These storms are mostly Mississippi and Alabama at the moment and in Tennessee. A couple of heavy storms starting to hit the far western corner of NC now.
Expect Georgia and the Carolinas to have a rough next 24 hours. We have had a few tornados in NC the last few days, but nothing like the ones that are on the way.

(10,745 posts)This was a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado. There's been several of those already. And it won't be ending for another couple days, either.....fuck.

It seems like, regardless of the season, the weather is getting more ferocious.

(16,529 posts)We've been under the orange screen of doom on the weather channel (TorCon 6) here in SE TN. Trust me, I'll have good vibes for Jackson...it's not over for us, but we had a nasty thunderstorm around 4 this morning. We were watching clouds trying to form rotations standing off the front porch, but they just couldn't. Booming and banging like crazy around we've been under one warning, but thankfully for us it's just windy and pouring down rain.
I hate this shit, too, and I really hate it when it happens at night. Good thoughts are sent.
