Trayvon Martin was just trying to get home to watch the second half of the NBA all star game

This is important IMO.

Martin left at halftime of the NBA all star game to get snacks for his brother and himself....skittles and an iced tea. It has also been established that he was talking on the phone while he was on his way back from the 7-11 carrying the snacks.

Martin just wanted to get home to watch the second half. He was on the phone and his girlfriend has stated that she wanted him to run when he was being stalked. Trayvon said that he would walk faster away from the man who was following him.

Would a kid just trying to get home to watch the second half, carrying snacks and talking on the phone suddenly turn the other way, pursue Zimmerman and try to assault and kill him as Zimmerman has claimed? Keep in mind that there is no indication that Trayvon has a violent history.

It really makes no sense. Trayvon probably didn't give a damn about Zimmerman and Zimmerman is actually the one with a violent history (domestic violence, assault/battery), not Martin.

Why would Zimmerman shoot Trayvon for no reason?

There must have been a confrontation that got out of hand.

are you saying there is still a question about whether Zimmerman went after Trayvon ? Zimmerman's own calls to the police show he went after him.

After all we've learned about George Zimmerman's past it is no stretch to imagine him killing the kid without a physical confrontation.

He would shoot him for the simple reason that he fancied himself a cop and he thought the "bad guy" had it coming.

Zimmerman was not the victim of a "violent attack". No blood on his clothes, no grass stains, not tears, no sign of injury to his head, no sign of a broken nose and the jaunty walk of someone completely unconcerned about arrest or that they have just killed someone.

Someone has suggested that GZ was taken home before so he could clean up and change his clothes, which would be in breach of all procedure. Somehow the police chief "happened" to show up at the arrest scene and the District Attorney "happened" to be at the station when GZ was brought in.

From a guy who thirty years ago, at 19, just wanted to watch an NBA playoff game, while my father and brother had other objectives and wanted to fight over each others preconceived slights. My Mother diffused the issue, but if she was not home and I got in between them and was killed would it by my fault that a confrontation got out of hand.

Too put it bluntly your post pisses me fucking off!

Why would you put any blame on a dead kid without any evidence?

I'm just saying there must have been some escalation.

Or maybe I'm naive in thinking normal people need reasons to kill another person. Maybe people are so screwed up they hunt and shoot people over their race and use them for target practice. Hell if I know.

...I'm sure he didn't do it for "no reason."

The reason he did it was that he was a racist cowardly bigot with blinders on, afraid of a young black male who dared confront him in face of his obvious harassment.

Just sad that Treyvon didn't run faster, but he did have a right to defend himself and confront his stalker.

It makes me mad all this crap about martin being the aggressor. if he were it would have been self defense. I hope that someone does something about this sanford PD

ie, Trayvon was in fact standing his ground in the face of lethal harassment. He was defending himself!

I just feel for the family in this case because Trayvon's name will be drageed through the mud just as that maid was in the DSK case, and if the prosecution is scared they will tuck tail and run. I'm worried there will be no justice in this case.

Fortunately Zimmerman clearly wasn't injured as per the videos and his account of things is shaky at best so I do have hope justice will be had.

It's a 50/50 chance as far as I can tell. Which makes me weep for that poor young man and his family.

You really see the deep fear of young black men (and teens) come to life when people even on this liberal board talk about Martin "attacking" and "beating" George Zimmerman. The horror of the young black man pounding and beating and striking a non-black is palpable every time a certain version of Zimmerman defender or "narrative questioner" even brings the matter up: in their descriptions, there is the unveiled hint of Martin's supposed irrational savagery...he "kept smashing" Zimmerman's head on the sidewalk (Zimmerman retained no visible injuries), he knocked Zimmerman down with one horrifying blow to the face (Zimmerman evinces no injury from this magically hard cold-cocking), he was uncontrollable, animalistic, savage, a wild beast, a wild negro beast. They're an inch away from saying it every time. A fucking millimeter.

sound like something out of a movie. Somehow against all odds this man was able to get to his gun and save his own life. Sounds fishy to me. So many things about this whole thing just don't ring true. Even if they believed zimmerman's account why didn't they retain his clothes? why haven't they taken statements from all witnesses? It's been a month now and they have not interviewed all the witnesses. The girl on the phone with martin right before it happened. And if he was on the phone the whole time he was walking, please tell me how he attacked this guy? I hope there is a real investigation of this police department and the prosecutor who said there wasn't enough evidence to charge him.

Zimmerman catches up to Martin, Martin turns and says why the fuck are you following me, Zimmerman wets his pants because a black guy talked him and shoots Martin, then makes up the whole fight story to cover his ass. His asshole buddy cop friends help him along, and his old man makes a call to the State's Attorney. All done, just another dead black kid.

Zimmerman reported a suspicious person, then started chasing him, saying that "expletive-the-may-be-a-racial-slur always get away." The dispatcher told Zimmerman not to pursue but he did anyway.

Zimmerman is a wanna-be cop who wanted to catch or kill a criminal. He thought this would make him a hero. His father still thinks that people will decide that George is a hero. The denial and just plain insanity in this family runs deep.
