Has it been mentioned on the news? Apparently I managed to miss it being reported on elsewhere. Thanks to all pointing that out!Lynchburg, Va. This afternoon:

3 rail cars doesn't seem to be a big news item nowadays. But there is fire and smoke.

(154,021 posts)there is a lot of that right now, and that is what people here tell me is local and nobody cares about.
Both Reuters and BBC had it on the app though. I was going to post it, but I have been told nobody is really interested in breaking news that is local, so that makes us two nobodies.
And I am quite honestly paying attention to my local fire people. We might get yet another fire, and we already had some evacs in the morning.

(7,813 posts)Rotten thing to do to the river and the atmosphere.
I looked on Google maps and followed the river through Richmond to the Atlantic. VA is beautiful. It takes just a little carelessness or bad practice to foul it up beyond repair (if they bother to try).
Good luck and good vibes to all.

(20,002 posts)I don't know if the NTSB or somebody else does any independent track and train inspections, similar to meat inspection, but maybe they should.
