(8,791 posts)I'd prefer Warren as President because I believe she's more authentically progressive and more willing to stick to her principles.
On the other hand Clinton is more polished and experienced when it comes to politics and I think she'd stand a better chance of winning the election.

(5,158 posts)I wouldn't be unhappy with a Hillary presidency. Either of them are better than anyone the other side has to offer.

(11,804 posts)I think that Clinton is a good person and a good politician but she is too much aligned with what we have already had. She won't be a break from Obama on trade or on the surveillance state, both of which are troubling to me. I don't think she's corrupt per se - she's just likely to be more of the same, and I'm not for that
That said at the moment Warren has been fairly clear that she's not running - that might be a feint, but we'll have to see.

(53,475 posts)Hillary is too beholden to Wall Street and WalMart. Plus she's a helluva hawk.
Then there's this ...

(111,359 posts)While I'd love to live long enough to see the first woman president, I'm not sure either woman is particularly what the country needs at this point. Both are still recovering Republicans and both think in terms of regressive taxation instead of really socking it to the rich and reining in HFT by hedge funds through transaction taxes.
I'm not sure Piketty's book will have time to percolate through the Democratic leadership by 2016. Until it does, we're likely to see only conservative Democrats in office.
Of course I will vote for whatever conservative stiff the party leadership gives us. I'm just not entirely sure that I'd like the First Woman President associated with timid, conservative fiscal policy.
Warren knows where some of the bodies are buried, so Comptroller of the Currency would be the best job for her. Otherwise, leave her in the Senate. Please.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_the_Comptroller_of_the_Currency It's one of those little known jobs that packs a wallop as far as power goes.

Haven't we been here before - recently?
