"He called the non-emergency number first, and they asked him where he was, because he was at the rear of the town houses and there was no street sign," said Robert.
Even though a dispatcher told George Zimmerman not to follow Martin, his father said his son continued his pursuit to locate an address to give to police.
"He lost sight of the individual, he continued to walk down the same sidewalk to the next street, so he could get an address for the police," he said.
"He went to the next street, realized where he was and was walking to his vehicle. It's my understanding, at that point, Trayvon Martin walked up to him and asked him, 'Do you have a (expletive) problem?' George said, 'No, I don't have a problem,' and started to reach for his cell phone... at that point, he (Martin) was punching him in the nose, his nose was broken and he was knocked to the concrete."

(70,508 posts).... "block watch captain?" And when Zimmerman got out to find an address he got "jumped"
by Mr. Martin.
Arrest and charge Zimmerman w/ murder 1 and see how fast he cops a plea. The man should
not be allowed to sit home and own firearms.

(15,189 posts)Of Trayvon, see's him, but doesn't go to him, Trayvon walks up to Zimmerman and gets in his face instead of fleeing to his dad's house. Doesn't Zimmerman know where he is? Doesn't he live there? And I believe the call during pursuit was a 911 call, not a non emergency call. Spin, Spin, Spin.

(57,936 posts)call to 911. Zimmerman considered Trayvon Martin to be a suspect, suspected of something anyway. Zimmerman made the comment to the police about how they always get away. He admitted he was following Trayvon Martin.
Even if this story is true, we know that Zimmerman was following Trayvon Martin and that Zimmerman knew he had a gun. Trayvon Martin, by Zimmerman's own admission, had been or was being followed, and would have had the right, under Florida law, to act in self-defense.
Zimmerman was the aggressor.
Assume that Zimmerman's story was true and that Trayvon Martin asked him if he had a problem, all that Zimmerman had to do was to apologize and explain that he was with Neighborhood Watch. Trayvon Martin would not have felt threatened had Zimmerman explained what he was doing. Zimmerman describes himself as the person following Trayvon -- as the aggressor in the situation. But Zimmerman had the upper hand because Zimmerman had a gun. That was a fact that only Zimmerman knew until he pulled his gun.
Even this story supports a finding of probable cause. If you think someone is suspicious but you haven't seen the person actually do anything wrong, don't follow that person, call 911 and let the police handle it. Most definitely, don't carry a gun when you are following someone. It can get you either dead or in a lot of trouble.

(5,029 posts)They completely lose any semblance of credibility when they do that. And since they weren't there when it happened they can only blow smoke up everyone's asses. At least no one is buying into it.
It's kind of like little kids trying to come up with a story on how the window got broken. "See, it's like this. Bobbie threw the ball...no, wait, the ball came from nowhere, uh, and bounced off my bat, which was not in my hands, yeah, it was laying on the ground, and the ball it hit the bat and bounced off and hit the window, and wait, that's not right..."
The least they could do is try to be consistent.
