The in-your-face hypocrisy of the GOP really knows no bounds

At a time when the Ohio GOP has pulled every rabbit from their bag of tricks in order to disenfranchise voters in the Buckeye state, Rob Portman has announced he will be going to Ukraine to monitor elections there. Say what, Senator?? Yes, it's GOP Bizarro World again.

Sen. Rob Portman will go to Ukraine at the end of the month, he said yesterday.

The Ohio Republican, speaking to a conference call of reporters, said he wanted to "go over and see firsthand" the situation, most likely when Congress goes into recess at the end of May. Congress is scheduled to take a break starting May 23 and Ukraine is scheduled to have a presidential election May 25.

He said he's hoping to go over at a time when he can help monitor elections to "make sure we have the kind of transparency and fair elections we think will allow Ukraine to chart its own course."

He said he's working Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., to work out the details....
