Dems - Hypocrites on the environment?

"What Democrats should be doing—besides killing Keystone and finally rolling out the new EPA rules—is refusing to accept money from the fossil fuel industry. (Yah, like that is going to happen) And the White House ought to be cracking down much more aggressively on domestic oil transportation, as well halting what is basically a fire sale on coal and natural gas reserves to the rest of the planet that undoes whatever gains the US might make in controlling its carbon output."

And:

"The GOP and Tea Party may deny climate change, and liberals may get a kick out of mocking them for ignoring the hard facts of science, but the Democrats haven't done shit about the problem either, even where they could have."

Just as corrupt as the Republicans on what should be a keystone issue in our party?

Sure, they give money to Mary Landrieu. And in presidential races, if they throw some to the Democrat, it's because they're hedging their bets.

Let's look at the various charts, from Open Secrets:

https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/indus.php?ind=E01

And in case you didn't notice, the Obama administration just won a rare victory for its EPA rules with the Supreme Court:

A key part of the Obama administration's green policies received surprisingly strong Supreme Court support on Tuesday over efforts to curb air pollution.

A 6-2 majority of justices issued a decision upholding federal agency rules to control coal-fired power plant emissions from 28 states.

It was a rare environmental victory in a conservative majority court that has in recent years generally sided against the federal government's nationwide clean air policies.

...

The case was an important test of federal regulatory power, and the rules issued two years ago by the Environmental Protection Agency were challenged by a coalition of 15 states, as well as several energy companies and labor unions.

Leaders in some mostly conservative states say lost jobs and higher energy costs are at stake from what they see as arbitrary and ambiguously enforced regulations.

But the administration and its environmental allies counter Americans' health should come first, and that as many as 45,000 deaths could be prevented each year if the Cross-State Pollution Rule would be allowed to take effect.

Hypocrites? Nah. Democratic members are in the first line of defense.

Republicans are the hypocrites. They talk about family, values, and responsibility, then they turn around and sell all that to corporate polluters.

The country made great progress when the republicans joined with the Democrats to pass our various 'Clean Acts'. These days republicans refuse to even consider anything need be done.

Democrat party bashing on this issue is not wise or scientifically based.

Oh, and it is called Global warming. Global warming causes the various climates to change.

Look at the resistance to higher fuel taxes here on DU - a progressive site.

No, Democrats aren't as corrupt - they're not lying for money on the subject. They could do more good - trying to persuade Americans they will need to change their lifestyle- but there is a real difference.
