In 51-47 Vote, Senate Republicans Protect Big Oil Subsidies As Gasoline Profits Soar |

By a nearly party-line vote of 51-47, the U.S. Senate failed to get the 60 votes needed to eliminate $24 billion in taxpayer subsidies for the five richest oil companies. The Republicans filibustered legislation by Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) which would have cut the subsidies to pay for investment in wind power and energy efficiency. Democrats who joined the Republicans included Sens. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Mark Begich (D-AK), and Jim Webb (D-VA). Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and retiring Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) broke ranks and voted to cut the tax breaks.

Pay close attention to these names. These are the names of men and women who are traitorous to the wellbeing of the US people and to liberty. They would keep us enslaved by the oil companies. Republicans, we expect this from. But Democrats? TRAITORS!

as Democrats,

I still can't bring myself to call them Democrats because they really aren't and never have been.

The blue dog thing is just a ruse for infiltration (or just an expedient way to get elected when running against another Republican) and bringing the party ever rightward, It is working, look how far right the Democratic party has moved the past forty years, it has moved so far right because it is now loaded with 90's style Republicans.

For some reason they just don't understand that you don't get a Democrat just by sticking a D on a Republican. what you get is just more Republicans and Republican policy (only now under a false flag) - the next phase of the insanity is we then are supposed to make sure to support that Republican policy and get it passed no matter what, just because the Republican policy has a D stamped on the folder.

or even traditional. The Republicans have perverted the procedural rules to obstruct anything they can't win.
