If you're interested in what I think here it is:
First off let me state that this has become the biggest media firestorm I can recall since the OJ Simpson Murder trial. The evidence against George Zimmerman is snowballing, so why hasn't he been arrested? If you will notice there has been a huge move by the GOP in Florida and elsewhere to shift the blame off Zimmerman in many ways. I won't go through any of them-they're out there for everybody to see.
It was the Florida GOP that moved to get the Stand Your Ground law passed. So far it's turning out that this law did indeed have very serious, negative unseen consequences. At this point Zimmerman and Martin have become a sore spot for the law. It's become the 'pink elephant' so to speak. (I'll let people think that's a double entendre if they like.)
It is beginning to look like the Stand Your Ground law was a very bad idea at least politically if not from a civil rights standpoint. So what then, for the people that contrived it and got it passed? If it turns out that public opinion is weighed heavily against it then they have to admit to a very serious political and social 'feauxe pas'. They don't want to admit they were wrong about anything or that they failed to predict the grievious negative outcome of their intentions and actions.
Simply put, this is a coverup by the GOP.

(6,036 posts)Daddy would likely post his bail anyways. As long as you know where he is going to be. Take your time and build a case.

(397 posts)well, actually he's liable to kill himself. Guys like this often do.

(22,143 posts)This was supposed to be neatly swept under the rug. Clean and clear, they bought/fixed his story and let him walk. It was supposed to be over. Now if they arrest him they have dig into all the ugly details of the cover up.
Fucking yourself, something that is physically impossible yet is pulled off so very often.

(65,616 posts)so why would he move to arrest a known murderer? They would probably become best friends if they ever met.

(731 posts)And hard evidence must be brought to light in order to get this a-hole locked up. But to the dismay of several people here I am a Gun-Owning democrat, that lives in texas and we have similar laws in place. And if i am walking down the street and have a threat that makes me fear for my life, i will use this law for my defense, but only if my family or I are in imminent danger.

(65,616 posts)that we know. The gun that placed the bullet inside the victim belongs to Zimmerman, that we know. Zimmerman shot and killed a kid. Do they need the bullet from the body to match to the gun? Do they have the gun as evidence? Are they even going to arrest Zimmerman? I would think so since a homicide detective wanted to charge Zimmerman.
It doesn't matter, the case is now being reviewed by the FBI, so whatever lies were told will come to light imo. Like the everchanging story we get from Camp Zimm.
but sometimes these things just take a little time.

(65,616 posts)I can only imagine what the FBI has learned about the case.

(50,130 posts)I think the police department is terrified of the power of discovery that would be available to Trayvon's attorneys if/when there is a trial.
I think there is some massive corruption under the surface; something that will be revealed in discovery.
I don't know how TPTB will tamp this down, though.
