Jim Coughlan, a candidate for state Senate, told the black MSNBC news anchor on Twitter, ‘Keep your stinking paws off my kid, you damned dirty ape.’ The tweet was in response to remarks Harris-Perry made about child-rearing.

Since it is a paraphrase of Heston in Planet of the Apes I wanted to examine the thing for a half-second to make sure there was no mitigating explanation for such a tweet...

And there isn't.

Melissa Harris-Perry is beautiful, eloquent, intelligent and a good human being - basically everything that Coughlan is far removed from and could never be.
