"Let Him Die!!" (Cheers and hurrahs!)

Remember when they asked the Repuke candidates about someone who worked all his life, gets a terrible illness and doesn't have adequate health insurance?

Remember the audience screaming like Roman's as the lions were tearing apart people?

Remember the laughter and the "high-fiving" as they screamed...LET HIM DIE??

Well, if we don't get out and vote this November. these are the people that will choose our government

They're fucking crazy..and even the sane ones can't stop the asshattery that the crazies have foisted on this country.

The only way to fix this shit is to defeat these idiots at the ballot box.

I don't give a shit how "bad" your Democratic candidate might be. If you don't fucking vote, you're giving your vote to Ted Cruz and Paul Ryan.

Bottom line is that if the folks who voted in 2012 get out and vote in 2014, it will be an ass-kicking the Repubs won't soon forget.

If one believes the national security (and anti-Muslim) pronouncements, AQ would kill Americans on sight and stop at nothing to destroy America; but what effect have they really had? How many American lives have they really affected? And, for how long?

Whereas, the new gop has very real effects on Americans and American institution ... to the point were Americans are actually dying and they are actively instituting policies/laws that extend the pain and suffering.

So yes, the new gop is worse than 1,000 AQ.

How many have killed themselves or died from malnutrition and so on from no jobs, the jobs purposely withheld by rightwing terrorists aka Teaparty

I agree that we need better, truer Democrats in Congress. Job one, however, is to keep the Repubs out.

Do that, then rebuild your power base at the state and local levels. Once that happens, then you can run more progressive candidates with a greater chance of victory.

How is that any more "responsible" on the person's part than having the whole society kick in and let the government pay for it? For one thing, it's more equitably distributed when the governement does it. If it's just on society and churches to donate to help the poor, not everyone is helped in every community.

And still it is not showing "personal responsibility" to take charity from a church any more than it is to take charity from the government.

This is so stupid, it just blows my mind.

In a general election, vote for the Democrat. Even if that requires holding your nose.

In a primary election, vote for the best candidate.

Upset with your choices in the general election? Recruit better candidates for the primary. Or even run yourself. They don't have to win the primary to turn the country left. Insane Republicans lost lots and lots of primary elections to drag their party to where it is today.

Tue May 6, 2014, 07:19 PM
May 2014

"I've seen it happen time after time. When the Democratic candidate allows himself to be put on the defensive and starts apologizing for the New Deal and the Fair Deal, and says he really doesn't believe in them, he is sure to lose. The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat, and I don't want any phony Democratic candidates in this campaign."

---President Harry Truman
QED:2010

Leadership! "The Buck Stops HERE!" NO Excuses!

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

*The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

*The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

*The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

*The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

*The right of every family to a decent home;

*The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

*The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

*The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for all our citizens.

Please note that the above are stipulated as Basic Human RIGHTS to be protected by our government,
and NOT as COMMODITIES to be SOLD to Americans by For Profit Corporations.

There was a time not so long ago when voting FOR The Democrat
was voting FOR the above Traditional Democratic Party Values.
Sadly, this is no longer true.

A Revival of these Working Class Party Values
would go a LONG way to reviving Mid-term enthusiasm among Working Class Democrats.

Democratic leadership: Please give me a candidate to vote for.

I live and work in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. In November, I will be voting for the Democratic candidate against Tom Corbett, as well as any other Democrats running for whatever. Our two Senators are not up for election in 2014. My Congressman is Republican, Charlie Dent. This year, he will be running unopposed by any Democratic opponents. Listening to and reading various progressive media, I'm told over and over that in order to take back the House and retain the Senate, it's up to Democratic voters to vote in November. I'd love to vote for any Democratic candidate against Charlie Dent, but the Democratic Party can't come up with a single candidate to run against Dent. The Party leadership is letting down thousands of Democratic voters, not the other way around. It makes me wonder how many other races nationwide feature unopposed Republicans.

2014 will be a disaster. Obama was elected because of the high turnout by people of color. I thank them immensely and love them all. So what's going to get them to the polls this time? Does anyone really think they will be eager to stand in line to vote for a rich white guy? They didn't in 2010 and I don't blame them.
I see a lot of people here who won't vote Dem because they have a quibble with some stance. I'm not a person of color, but I can see a whole lot of frustration in watching the Democratic party take them for granted. One poster here said wisely, give them something to vote for.
