FBI arrests Indiana man for threatening Boehner over unemployment insurance

An Indiana man was arrested by the FBI on Thursday night after allegedly making death threats toward House Speaker John A. Boehner because the Republican-majority House has not voted to pass an extension to emergency unemployment insurance.

Brandon James Thompson, of New Castle, Ind., left a message on Boehner's Web site on March 31 in which he declared "alright you drunk John Bin Laden it's time to take you out" and threatened to kill him "with my sniper rifle," according to a FBI affidavit.

Thompson also called Boehner's wife multiple times, leaving threatening messages on her cellphone voice mail, the affidavit says.

In one message, Thompson said he was "coming after your oompa loompa husband." In another, he told Boehner's wife that "you tell your husband to redo the unemployment extension because I'm going to come for him," according to the affidavit.
