George Zimmermans brother spoke out for the first time Thursday night, calling his brother a neighbor everyone would want to have and insisting he defended himself after being attacked by Miami-Dade teen Trayvon Martin.
He prevented his firearm from being taken away from him, Robert Zimmerman Jr. told Piers Morgan on his CNN program.

The Miami Gardens teen was unarmed, carrying just candy and ice tea the night he died. The teens death and lack of an arrest has triggered a nationwide crusade for Zimmermans arrest and calls to change Floridas controversial Stand Your Ground law.
But Robert Zimmerman Jr. said that carrying candy and tea should not automatically mean his brother wasnt threatened. He then gave his account of how he believed the night in question unfolded.

(8,582 posts)Everyone wants Zimmerman as a neighbor.
"I fit the stereotype he emailed around," Rashada said. That realization led Rashada to drive downtown whenever he wants to take a walk and stretch his legs. "I dont want anyone chasing me," he said.

(20,441 posts)I mean, sure, his father is a retired Orange County judge who may or may not have had a hand in getting his boy off after he assaulted a police officer some years back, and now his brother chimes up saying he was top of the pops as far as being a good neighbor. I'm sure if you drove up and down the street in a fucking BMW, he'll be sure to wave hello the same as if you were a poor man in a hoodie who had to walk because your car broke down.
Boy, I tell you if Father Zimmerman was a respected judge, he sure raised a disgraceful son. Kind of like how George H.W. Bush raised that son of his George W. Bush.
