Julie Schenecker found guilty of first degree murder, no possibility of parole

This is the correct verdict imo. Schenecker murdered her two children for being "mouthy." Attempted to claim mental illness, but she was apparently an alcoholic and multiple drug abuser. Had planned the murders systematically for a long time. Mean mommy syndrome.

She did have a looonnnngggg history of mental illness and psychotic behavior. But the bar is pretty high for "not guilty by reason of insanity" in Florida. Basically, you have to be a babbling idiot completely unaware of your surroundings. So the verdict was proper, in the context of existing law. But the mother still had some MAJOR mental illness issues... I hope the jury and judge give her life without parole, rather than the death sentence.

Jurors are commenting on their decision and they did not buy the mental illness argument. Her journals, along with other evidence, indicated much long term, rational plotting of the killings. They did not see this as the work of someone in the throes of delusion.
