When these phoneys who are just racists pretending to be Patriots because they hate losing oppose the Patriot Act which is about as anti-patriot as you can get then I will listen to them. Where were they when we essentially had a coup d'état in this country over a very suspicious 911???

And, shortly thereafter, we started seeing those insulting "free speech" zones placed strategically far away from Dubya and/or his cronies. I suspect Rove had something to do with those -- and the propagandized nomenclature.

and it was fucking cold, and it was crazy crowded. I came in on a bus from Detroit full of activists. Early 2003 iirc? Before the bombs even started.. I think the low estimates were half a million people, the high estimates at a million. All day long in the freezing weather.

Although the media treated it like it was 25 people...

eta: seems like you may have been talking about an NYC protest, I was remembering one in DC where the air temps were in the teens and the wind was nuts.

where the M$M panned the sparse outer edges of the ginormous crowd of protestors, and alleged there were only "tens of thousands" of us, and weren't we a pathetic little bunch?

A very young CNN reporter "interviewed" me (I'm sure because I looked upwardly mobile in my thrift-store cashmere wool coat, pashmina scarf, and felted wool hat), and was visibly dismayed when I commented on the placement of their cameras, the size of the crowd, and Gloria Steinem's adjuration that all activists write five letters a week. She then asked me if I was warm enough in the bitterly cold wind, shifting the convo to the weather. Guess which tiny part of that filmed "interview" aired...

And I was hoping to find the answer on this thread, as well. I have to guess that it isn't for this event, though, because seriously (and hilariously), they'd have had to have more people to set up the chairs than they had attendees.

But it had nothing to do with any American Spring protest. Simply preparations for a commencement ceremony (George Washington University?) on the Mall this weekend.

one way to tell is the "imgflip.com" in the lower corner... it's just a joke

...if you ever want to find the source of a photo, one way is to right click on it, click properties ...copy the URL address and then put into google "search by image" doesn't always work but sometimes it does

When I saw this story on the news I wondered where they got the 10-30 million prediction of how many were expected to show up. Where did they get that figure? Unless they had that many replies online they could have only pulled it out of their ass. But then I realized that's where they carry their brains . . .
