NYPD Officers Allegedly Smash Boy’s Head Through Window, Nearly Killing Him

Cops smashed a handcuffed fourteen-year-old through a storefront window in the Bronx Saturday night, nearly killing him.

The Juvenile Justice Information Exchange reports that Javier Payne suffered cuts to his face, his chest, and a punctured lung from being shoved into the window of the Hookah Shop. Paramedics had to hold Payne’s chest closed as he was rushed to the hospital — though they did not arrive on scene immediately because police called it in with a protocol used for drunks, not for a pediatric emergency.

Payne was arrested that night with another teenager on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing government administration, and assault. While it’s not clear what the circumstances surrounding the arrest were, police often use these kinds of charges to discredit or obscure accusations of brutality. The report filed by the officers made no mention of the window smashing.

After hours of surgery, Payne’s mother was allowed to see her son. “Mommy, Mommy,” he said. “The cop, he pushed my head through the window while I was handcuffed, Mommy, he pushed my head through the window.”

I had been thinking that the cops were just too militarized and accustomed to not being held accountable for their actions. But now I think something deeper may be at play here.

This is something that could potentially affect us all. Let us continue to expose the corruption in the hopes that, one day, it may finally be dealt with, and thoroughly.

Bunch of thugs.

They are only making things harder on themselves.

When no one trusts them anymore, and they've built up so much hatred and resentment, they are going to become targets of the unstable and the angry and the un-vindicated.

Cops all over this nation need to wake up. Civilians have guns and are obviously not afraid to use them.

I am NOT advocating this behavior as it would be dangerous for all of us were there to be a war on law enforcement.

But law enforcement leaders need to step back and stop viewing citizens - even those who make bad and illegal choices - as enemy combatants, or they will start acting like enemy combatants en masse. And that will be an ugly day, but an entirely predictable one at the rate cops are going across this land.

We are a laughing stock among "free' nations. The rest of civilized society looks at the NYPD types like these and says "Sure, land of the free my ASS."

And you are absolutely correct.

I spent my teenage years in Atlanta. We were typical teenagers doing stupid stuff. The cops never beat up any of my friends, never arrested a single one of us even if they walked up on us smoking a fat doobie, and I remember them being friendly and not out to criminalize youth.

They even raided a party I was at one time.
No SWAT team showed up and tore doors off the hinges, no weapons were brandished, no arrests were made.4

They saw the weed and beer and rolled their eyes and just told us to end the party. No one was beat up and we were all polite and had no hatred or animosity towards them. We knew we were being too noisy and we accepted their closing the party because they treated us with respect.

We protested when Southern Bell wanted to tear down the FOX theater. Never a problem with cops.

We'd all be beat up felons if it were today that we were teenagers.

I hope the next generations can get the bad cops under control. Fortunately, where I live, most of the cops are like the ones I knew back then. I couldn't bear to live where they are anything like NYPD.

second amendment rights. The day could come when those against us take more and more liberties away and brutalize the populace. We've seen it happen before, in many countries. As another poster said, this is not the country I grew up in. Far too many Americans are naive as to what is happening in this country.

and they need to demand the bad cops be punished and terminated.

There will come a tipping point, as always when there is brutality against people that is condoned by the government, when the citizens who take up arms against the brutalizers will not discriminate between good cop or bad cop. They will want to massacre them all.

There will be one story too many of this crap in the OP in some town or another, and some people are going to flip. It will be a domino effect if it starts.

This is NOT anything I want to ever see happen. I want cops in this country to stop with the brutality before their massacre by fed up citizens becomes inevitable, but bad cops do not seem to have the consciences or the brains to see the way they are making themselves targets by choking college students, throwing kids through window, beating suspects to a bloody pulp, sticking a knife in a kids throat and killing him to find a packet of drugs that isn't there, on and on and on.

I'm not talking about a Bundy situation; I'm talking about street cops here who act like barbarians.

Cops may think people will keep taking this from them. They need to study history.

the fascistic-sounding Department of Homeland Security paved the way for the militarization of America's police forces. It's commonplace now to see SWAT teams, fully armored with shotguns and military-style weapons, knocking down the doors of little old women in poor neighborhoods and taking out a little testosterone-fueled macho on them and anyone else in the vicinity.

Back in the day, Americans worried about the presence of the US military being used on American soil against American citizens, but it is being forgotten since the "war on terror" and the growth of private, politically-motivated, for-profit mercenaries who could very well decide to stage a coup if they planned it.

It may sound paranoid to some, but we should all be constantly vigilant of the way our institutions and laws could be abused by those with nefarious intentions...

Cops who do this are thug criminals and deserve time behind bars. It's long past time we quit paying out the taxpayers money for their criminality. They are a menace and no civilized society should tolerate such barbarism.
