Google Maps: It's 14 minutes to the Sanford Police Station on 13th Street

Of the three routes suggested by Google Maps, this one is the shortest:

If the time-stamp of the station's surveillance video is correct, then Zimmerman was at the station 34 minutes after the shooting. That doesn't seem to leave much time for the EMTs to arrive, diagnose and treat Zimmerman. Had his head been repeatedly slammed into concrete, one would think that the paramedics would have spent a little more time on him, perhaps even recommending that he be scanned at a hospital for head injuries.

It just doesn't add up.

I also plotted a route to the nearest convenience store. I don't know if this is the store Trayvon visited or not as it's not a 7-11 (nearest 7-11 is further) but it is consistent with Trayvon returning home via the north entrance to the complex.

1. Much less give him time to change his clothes to get out of ones with blood on them.

A quick shower, clothing change, etc. Aside from that speculation, I agree, I don't see time for EMTs to show, treat him, then police take him to the station.

2. How about - a vending machine - rather than a convenience store?

Both Skittles and AZ Tea are items likely to be dispensed via a vending machine somewhere in the complex - isnt there a pool in one picture?

I think the convenience store is something that may have been misreported somehow...

4. By now the cops

have video from the security cams at the store where Treyvon got the candy. They may also have video of him from security cams at other bussinesses along his route. They probably have him on camera entering the complex. You're right -- it doesn't add up.

7. Yeah, because the focus of the police investigation

seems to have been directed at the victim rather than the shooter.

6. Couldn't have been much injury

Seems likely that any injury was so superficial that it only required a cursory examination at the scene. Not even a freaking band-aid.

13. But with the report of a gunshot (did anyone report that someone was

down?) they may have dispatched an EMT vehicle at the same time they dispatched the police.

But the timeline doesn't support (although they've never claimed, I don't think) a change of clothes to explain a lack of blood.

15. Thats what Im wondering - Did Zimmerman call 911 after shooting Trayvon?

It sounds like the police were on their way already per Zimms request.

Why didnt Zimmerman call 911 HIMSELF???

9. The complex itself also has surveillance cameras.

I have seen them on msnbc several times when they showed footage of the complex and murder scene.

I've seen them, too. I'm betting that somewhere the cops have video of Zimmerman following Trayvon in his car or on foot. I'm left wondering if they have video of Zimmerman running through the complex with his gun drawn.

16. Cops don't observe posted (or Google maps), speed limits.
Sat Mar 31, 2012, 02:52 PM
Mar 2012

More than likely, they were returning to the station with lights and siren, or just lights.

That alone would give them at least 5 more minutes.

17. This is true

A better timeline:

7:17 PM, police dispatched
7:30 PM Trayvon Martin pronounced dead
~7:55 PM - Zimmerman arrival at police station recorded on video
~10:00PM - Zimmerman released. (duration described as "about two hours&quot

Still, not much time for treatment of these wounds described as bleeding from the front and back of the head.
