Through DCO Connect I can get real time lab results, schedule appointments and refill prescriptions.

I recently retired in 2013. In years prior, it used to take upwards of 240 days to get a medical records review and a disability rating. Due to the increased funding of the transition program (TAP), I had my rating completed within 45 days of retirement.

there is advanced blue button, I assume you have that because you can see lab results.

doctor's notes can obviously vary in quality from doctor to doctor, make sure you read them, or not, your choice
-

but then you can link to My Health E Vet through E-benefit. There is a Blue Button feature that allows you to access real time lab results, Dr Notes, test results, etc.

Not sure what that is. Would rather not say which state, but it does have a large veteran community

They don't have to wait more than a few days to get in for an appointment and, if they question/are concerned about a different problem area, they are immediately sent to the correct department, rather than have to return at a later date.

I have survivor's benefits and am also quite impressed with the services.

I'm wondering if this problem is by location?

I have a very good physician there. If I need a prescription refilled I just send him a note via MyHealthevet secure messaging and the prescription shows up in my post office box.

Look, no one is saying that the VA system is without problems, but, if you wanted, you could find hundreds of people that would provide you negative stories, or horror stories about the Cleveland Clinic, or any number of outstanding hospitals.

It's also a matter of selective reporting. If the media would dig a little deeper, they may find that some veterans don't qualify for VA care, or they are so low on the priority list that they HAVE to wait for Space Available treatment. You may also find that the guy whose liver is trashed, turned out to be a 60 year alcoholic, and his death had absolutely nothing to do with whether or not he was seen on a Monday, or a Friday.

If it turns out that employees of the VA were cooking the books, and breaking rules and regulations, there is no punishment that would be too severe for them.

But, what we should not allow is for the party that CONSISTENTLY VOTES AGAINST VETERANS BENEFITS to use our veterans as a political football.

That's the problem with Repukes...THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE VETS OR THE TRUTH! By the time they are done trying to exploit this issue, they'll have the T-Baggers convinced that President Obama himself was scheduling VA appointments, and that the wait for care for some vets was due to a death panel in the Affordable Care Act.
