Well, Shinseki has resigned. Everything will be OK, now, at the VA.

I guess everything's OK with the VA now. All of that scheduling delay stuff is over, for sure.

How long will it take to find a new VA Secretary and get him or her confirmed? When will all of those VA Hospital management people who were actually in charge of this horrible injustice to our veterans be fired? Who's going to fire them?

But, the problem's solved now. All of those Senators can campaign on how they found the solution to the VA's long term incompetence, fraud, and non-care.

And in the same 'breath' I've actually read something that Joe The Plumber said at DU. :doh2: This 'resignation' is one big fat dodge, deflect, and defer. And the media is complicit.

Unfortunately, Congress, specifically the republican components will continue to drag their feet

but like most scandals posed by Faux Noise and the RW echo machine, it has been there a long time. It was just time for the Repubs to exploit it. They needed a "real" scandal to pump up the base.

Cutting Shinseki out of the equation fixes nothing. Repubs win a few political points, but they still won't get this Vet's vote. Notice how most of the crap happened in red states?

At the moment 26 VA centers are being investigated. Are they all in 'red states'? You are aware that most military bases are in 'red states'. So what? The VA is federal agency, with federal employees, with federal management and federal money. What does Red and Blue states have to do with it?

That staffing will now be safe and we will be able to meet all of the hospitalized vets needs in a timely manner....all the frontline workers and execs who have forever put their own needs first will have attitude adjustments and realize how horrible they have been....

(sigh) Ok, well, I can at least dream until I walk onto the ward and reality returns...

Will all the members of Congress who were actually complicit in this mess resign? Will those who passed a 600 million dollar tax cut for the rich this week instead of passing Senator Sanders bill resign? What a load of complete shit.

whether it's the US Postal Services or the VA or public schools or public anything that can be turned to private profit: Starve it for funds. Demand more from it. Claim it can be better done privately. Send the privateers, who have been instigating the collapse, to the rescue. Remind 'em who whores for 'em. Collect the check.

He's the fall guy, the goat for those seeking re-election. The VA is so vast, he could hardly be able to know all the BS that goes down.
Still, as the boss, I would have liked to see what kind of clean-up he could have done. He fell on his sword for what? A new VA secretary will have to catch up to get where Shinseki already is. Political BS.
