mean "killing!" Find a dictionary it will give you definitions of the "word" such as "to make valid or make legal, as by signing a contract; OR "validation of a legal document by performance of the necessary formalities."

And there are more, it DOES NOT necessarily mean "to kill!" Maybe you know this, but just felt a need to point this out.

it's just that I see so many grammatical errors and misuse of words these days I sometimes let it get to me. I understand some of the spelling errors, perhaps due to texting, still I've encountered so many who don't have a clue when it comes words and what they mean.

I'm often asked why I use words they don't understand, it's drives me up a wall. Personally I chastise myself, but why should "I" even feel this way?
