Conservative bloggers were for Bergdahl release until Obama did it

It turns out some of the Obama administration’s most dogged critics were for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl – “using all means available, including force” – before they were against it.

PJ Media promoted a White House petition in January calling for the release of the soldier held captive by the Taliban, according to links and screen shots compiled by the Little Green Footballs blog.

Bridget Johnson, a blogger for the conservative PJ Media, frequently tweeted out reminders at that time to ask the Obama administration to work toward Bergdahl’s release.

But once the administration worked out a swap over the weekend of five Guantanamo Bay prisoners for Bergdahl, she wasn’t quite as enthusiastic.

“Analyst on CNN says ‘well, Israel’s done it’ re prisoner swaps, as if those have turned out so well,” Johnson tweeted Monday afternoon.

In a tweet Monday morning, Johnson noted that Rep. Buck McKeon (R-CA) had said “if Obama’s trying to liquidate and close Gitmo through deals to release detainees, that’s illegal too.”

Elsewhere on PJ Media, which was co-founded by Little Green Footballs founder Charles Johnson, conservative bloggers questioned the transfer and suggested it was not just illegal – but possibly signaled defeat in Afghanistan.

“Gitmo prisoners must inevitably be released, because Obama has lost to the Taliban,” wrote blogger Richard Fernandez.

1. Obama should come out in favor of the opposite of what he really wants.

If he proposed unlimited fracking and oil drilling everywhere, the GOPers would suddenly be all in favor of wind and solar development. If he came out against abortion rights they'd want abortion clinics on every street corner. If he said he didn't think climate change was real they'd suddenly be Al Gore's best friends. If he said he wanted an end to same-sex marriage everywhere in the US they'd all be getting same-sex married even if they weren't gay. If Obama claimed he wanted to eliminate the minimum wage the GOPers would demand raising it to $25 an hour.

You deal with very small children that way. I think he should try it.

that Cancer was good for us and start a smear campaign on the Cure.

They've rendered themselves impotent on complaining about the President.

I can imagine the comments. " See he's an imperial President cause he never asked us if we wanted a cure to cancer."

And another, " A cure for cancer is a job killer."

and... " cancer cures is a liberal agenda...cancerghazi "

Then there would signs..." leave my cancer cells alone" misspelled of course.

negotiating with Cliven Bundy even as the armed militias were in full force. Where were those "Obama negotiated!" complainers then?
