Now this guy here deserves a pro-athlete/entertainer's salary:

Neither sports nor showbiz are essential for society, but education is. Teachers really do have to put up with a bunch of BS from their students, whether it is breaking up fights or having them goof off in class. And of course, teachers have a ton of papers to grade.

P.S. This video is over a year old.

He should get residuals for being filmed, no doubt without his permission.

That teacher did a great job. You don't have a lot of tools other than your voice and your strength of character when students are fighting or are revving up to fight because you will be fired or sued if you touch them. I did grab one girl by the hood of her sweatshirt to pull her off another girl who she was beating the shit out of because I was afraid for her safety. Still came quite close to being fired for that one, but it was the only thing to do.

Kids learn respect when you respect them. And they want to learn, they want to be taught. I had students who were fresh out of juvie, hard core gangsters some of them. And most of them needed a strong adult, someone responsible to talk with. Not a cop. Not somebody who was trying to sell them something. Teachers who care make strong impressions on students. They deserve all the praise in the world, because it's a very tough job.
