then you can hot link to it by selecting the picture and use the "Copy Image URL" command that is available by right-clicking your mouse. It is sometimes considered poor netiquette, but it is done anyway. The disadvantage is that if the picture is removed from the server where it originally resides then the photo will also be removed.

If the picture is on your hard drive, then you cannot directly paste it. You will need to set up a photo-sharing account on the Internet such as photobucket.com, upload your photo, then copy and paste the URL into your OP.
