I cannot attest to the veracity of this; but ...

On Thursday half a million “IMPEACH OBAMA FOR LEAVING AN AMERICAN BEHIND IN AFGHANISTAN” signs were found by sanitation workers next to a dumpster behind the Washington-based headquarters of the Republican National Committee.

G.O.P. chairman Rence Priebus said," We know nothing about the litter found in the alley behind our national office. We suspect this is part of an orchestrated mainstream media smear campaign. For the record, we are opposed to littering."

The author is a political cartoonist, that has no love for republicans.

When you're gonna get criticized either way, you might as well do the right thing. Which is exactly what the President did.

why are you spreading it around? That's called slander.

We get all outraged when Republicans spread lies and/or unverified "facts" about Democrats, and then we turn around and do the same thing about Republicans. That is called hypocrisy.

Don't complain the next time that some right winger spreads bullshit about one of ours.

Wouldn't that exclude most of the political stuff that gets posted on this board ... and the internutz, in general?

I mean really ... what happens is people read something that their Blogger or "news-source of choice wrote ... They/we agree with what is written ... They/we post it! Very little though to whether something is "true" or not, just minimally plausible and that they/we argee with the spirit of what is written.

What would be left to post under the "know to be true" criterion ... besides pictures of puppies and kittens ... and "cool story(ies), Bro."?

My post was a joke about all those that didn't get the satire. I understand what you mean though. If we posted only what we "know" to be "true," the entire internet would read like an instruction manual with LOLcats as the illustrations, lol. That would be kind of funny, but not very interesting or sensible to expect.
