Do you think time is catching up with you? Perhaps it's already overtaken you and left you in the dust.
Do the years seem to be going ridiculously quickly now? There's a reason for it. You're getting old.
We will provide you a report full of interesting stuff.

I'm not getting old, I am old!
Funny though, I don't feel old.

(2,101 posts)when I was younger I would have foolishly given them my birthdate!
Seeing how close 'they' could come to identifying me distinctly from that, along with other metadata would be less interesting.

Did you know that if you give someone your birth date (including year), gender, and 5-digit zip code, the majority of the time (70% if I recall correctly) that's enough information to uniquely identity you?

(2,101 posts)an online questionnaire which was remarkably accurate in determining where one is from based on their linguistics. Just another nail. If you are online they know who you are already.

(15,210 posts)Finding out who you are isn't as easy for some "theys" as other "theys".

(1 post)So, I'm Jolyon Ralph and I created the You.regetting.old site.
I didn't put my name on the site to stop crazy spam explosions, but unlike many I did not hide the domain registration so I can be found by those who really need to contact me.
The site is just for fun. We do not record any information entered permanently except to aggregate the total number of times a particular date is requested.
As you can see when you choose the option to enter the name of a friend we remind people to only enter a first name or nickname for privacy reasons.
If you are concerned then simply enter a bunch of different dates with your date of birth somewhere within. That way it will be hidden from 'them'
Being sensible about your personal information is certainly not being paranoid, you are right to raise concerns. If anyone has further questions feel free to contact me (google me)

(9,610 posts)I was still relatively young when that happened. It's like I have died, but I am still here.

(29,704 posts)That's when it all died for me. I became a nervous wreck and became a news junkie because it was all so horrible from then on. We are still trying to dig out from that horror and until they are in the box at the Hague, I won't really rest again.

(114,904 posts)I'm 61. Except for the residue from a nasty accident, I'm in excellent health. I know who I am and what I am in a way that I didn't when I was young. I have people who I know and love in my life and who reciprocate. And time is a funny plastic thing. That's interesting and OK with me.
