Former Marine now carries revolver to protect himself from Open Carry

This situation is obviously the wet dream of the gun industry. Citizens carrying guns to protect themselves from other citizens. They must be uncorking the champagne bottles when they read stories like this.

Former Marine Henry said he approached a Memorial Day Open Carry rally, which took place in Fort Worth, with no ill will. A gun owner and a video producer, he hoped to make a video of the demonstrators and sell it to them.

But he was instantly accosted, he said, by men with semiautomatics demanding to know who he was and what he was doing. “Two or three guys immediately began bombarding me with questions,” he said. “These are armed strangers engaging an unarmed citizen.”

...

The name of Henry’s production company and his phone number was displayed on the rear window of his Chevrolet Tahoe.
He then departed for a trip out of town. Henry was just past the city limits, he said, when the first of many phone calls with death threats started.

Open Carry member Joseph Tye posted his video of the encounter — including Henry’s phone number — on YouTube. Tye attached this comment: “James Henry apparently does not like Texans lawfully exercising their right to carry guns. He also is apparently an ardent atheist that has a foul mouth and is quite negative toward peaceful Christian people.”

For the record, Henry said, he’s an agnostic. Such online activity, he said, serves to antagonize and incite. “They are well aware that they are provoking some of their more unstable ranks.”

Henry now carries a .38 revolver — concealed — in his car. “I have a firearm on me now, not because I’m afraid of gangs,” he said, “but because I’m afraid of my fellow gun owners.”

I'd wager it won't be long before there's a shoot out at some corral that will kill and mame innocent people. And, unfortunately, this is what it will probably take to get peoples attention, AGAIN.....

3. Well he does have to keep it concealed since it's a revolver.

Texas does not allow open carry of hand guns unless they are black powder antiques or black powder replicas.

You need a permit for concealed carry and can only open carry a handgun on your way directly to a motor vehicle or water craft.

8. Actually, you are correct. I was under the impression that a CCL permitted open carry.

The more guns you put in the hands of unstable people, the more people will need guns to protect themselves.

It's not surprise and was probably the marketing plan from the beginning.
