GOP Convention: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Permitted handguns will be allowed in RNC's 'clean zone'

http://www2.tbo.com/news/politics/2012/apr/02/permitted-handguns-will-be-allowed-in-citys-clean--ar-387365/

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and the other city bigwigs are coming up with all sorts of rules to try to contain the mayhem, including my personal favorite, which is to limit parades to 60 minutes so the riot cops can take a break from their humidity-retaining Imperial Stormtrooper suits.

They’ve banned all sorts of items, including super-soaker squirt guns and string, from the “protest zone.” But guess what they can’t ban outside the Secret Service perimeter? Actual guns:

Conspicuously absent from the list of potential weapons: Firearms.

That’s because state law bans local governments from placing any restrictions on the carrying of guns in public spaces.

And that’s because the brilliant Rick Scott administration allowed the NRA to run its wish list through the GOP super-majority state legislature. Is it possible for an entire state to perish from terminal stupidity? We may be about to find out.

Newt's presence could ignite a "Gunfight at the gOKp Corral."

Goes for his gun...fingers get caught in key ring...blows off knee cap. Winning.

I'm sure everyone will feel totally safe having a few hundred nutcases with itchy trigger fingers "protecting" their rights. As the Secret Service proclaims in a weary voice of solidarity, "What the serious fuck?".

6. Yep. Silly string is also a no go. I suspect glitter, flour and paint may also be banned.

Other than clothing, signs and firearms, I'm not sure what you can bring to the protest zones. This is one crazy and scary society Republicans have created for us.

and needs to be addressed.

SYG laws are now in effect.

Everyone may shoot at each other.

I just hope that is the case in Tampa.

I remember a news report about a Religious Right type confronting a mainstream/moderate/Country Club Republican with the question: "Are you demon-possessed?" The concentration of nuts in the Republican granola has been increasing exponentially, and now they're armed!

There's a saying about California being a mix of 'fruits, nuts and flakes!' I just emphasized the nuts for the GOP.

Tea baggers, romnyites and newtonians, all heavily armed and
starting an old fashioned shootout at the convention.
Whoever survives gets the nomination.

I say someone inventive down there (and with a warped sense of humor) sets up a big booth outside of the convention. Above the booth goes a big sign with the works 'O.K. Corral'.

Then we just wait for the festivities to begin. I am sure there will be many feeling threatened on the first day alone.
