I was a big fan of Keith back in the day. But the reality is that his talent ended up being superseded by his ego, both on and off screen. He used to bring on experts and have a back and forth with insightful questions that informed people about the process and what was going on. Towards the end it tended to be much more an "I know best" attitude. It's a turn-off to the audience to be lectured, and it doesn't make for the greatest attitude working with others either.

You can't see what happened from the outside, not really.

And the industry is populated with big egos. That's why we watch them instead of other way around.

It was a strain to watch.

Keith would be cut off in the middle of talking, lousy video and really piss poor production values.

I have seen better productions from a local high school tv.

which he apparently had a problem doing. His ego did him in, nothing else - and he's running out of cable channels that will be willling to hire someone who is so much trouble.

THAT tends to true. He had an opportunity to being the star to bring the network to prominence. Instead, he felt he was owed everything up front and when he did not get it (as it was not possible), his ego took over.

His rep is being a difficult person to deal with and his continually getting fired (ESPN, Fox Sports, MSNBC and now Current) says a lot. I'll believe Al Gore over a petulant giant ego every time.

always have to date the bad boys, Gore probably thought he'd be the one he'd straighten out for. And just like the women I mentioned, Gore got screwed. And I have no idea what keith's point was as I haven't heard what he's saying about all this other than comparing himself to a $10 million chandellier (just further making my point).

going to work.

From CurrentTV, they screwed up many ways with production and on-line availability, where MSNBC puts the shows up within hours in entirety, Current put up next to nothing and kept shutting down any available video. Only hope to watch was streaming through other sites that seemed also to get periodically shut down, meaning to me that even though Al Gore "invented the internet," he hasn't a clue as to how to use it to get dedicated viewers.

From KO's pov, he's a prima donna that didn't show up to work. Hell I'm a prima donna, but I show up to work or I quit, I don't expect to be continued to be paid when I fail to show up day after day. He had become a problem and his presentation, not just the production overall, his presentation was truly sucky.

I think either one entity being the way they were or the other would have maybe worked out, but together, not a team at all. We'll see if Current can maintain without KO, seems they are getting some other hosts and shows that are finally ending the never-ending repeats of Vanguard.

Ahhhhh Yes: We must contrast those nasty angry egotistic Liberal commentators (like Keith Olbermann) with.....the quiet ,humble, self-effacing, ego-less, almost Budda-like qualities of Conservative commentators.....who, no doubt, bicycle to work, so that they might not offend THEIR limo drivers. Chill out Right Wingers, and just take two more Viagras. But do me a favor- and DON'T call me in the morning

I caught a few minutes of her show and wasn't impressed. I think KO would do a better job. I'm not a big fan of his but I think he should get one more chance on a mainstream network.

I have no use for people who think or say "I have a talent so I deserve to be paid over a million dollars a year."

In some sense that is what every member of the .1% thinks.

I cannot believe that there are not thousands of people who could do it just as well for a fraction of the cost.
