JACK TRAMMELL is the Democrat running for Eric Cantor's seat.

Last edited Tue Jun 10, 2014, 10:29 PM - Edit history (1)

According to a Tweet by a Richmond Times-Dispatch reporter.

Trammell, like Republican candidate David Brat, is a professor at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. He doesn't have a campaign website up yet. I'd made several posts earlier with false claims: one about another person running in the Democratic Party ticket and another claiming no Democrat has filed. **Edit: this is Trammell's official campaign website and Facebook page.

been getting conflicting information too.

Glad there's a Dem running, but sorry the party seems to have really dropped the ball on this race.

him. Never heard of him before.

And it looks like the party as usual has already conceded the seat anyhow. Just as they did with Christie in NJ, going even further and actually ENDORSING Christie. Over 60 elected Dems in NJ endorsed Christie, and left a perfectly good Democrat to try to fight all that money alone, nothing from the Dem Party.

tried? Something new, an actual campaign, a fight to bring out the Independents, the young, those who don't bother to vote in a race where it is between Republican and Republican lite?? I guess we'll never know.

He'd certainly be a whole lot better than Brat on the issues from reading his website. But it doesn't cover his opinions on Foreign Policies eg, so it's hard to tell much about him.

If it's true that the state is so red that Brat is considered to be a shoe-in then why not go for broke, get a real Liberal Dem to run, to shake things up, go for broke, if the race is lost anyhow, there is nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

I am glad to see Cantor lose regardless though.

I don't shame him for writing some fiction stuff on the side.

Though he does need some better book covers.

As we noted earlier on Tuesday, Brat will face Jack Trammell, also an instructor at Randolph-Macon. If the students of the college were to pick, they'd likely pick Trammell; his Rate My Professor score is much higher.

1) Heavily GOP district.

2) This Brat guy will be a media darling for unseating the House Majority Leader for the first time since 1899. That's a shitload of free publicity.

3) You can bet your ass that handlers on their way right now from Koch-sucker HQ to try to make him seem reasonable.
