Articulate, forceful, sarcastic, brilliant, witty and all a Democrat leader should be. His rebuttals and responses to the Republican talking heads was spot on. What a fucking shame he screwed it up. As Marlon Brando said in The Waterfront he could have been a contender.

I agree that it is too bad, that someone who could really have made a contribution sabotaged his career like this.

(2,097 posts)It's about judgment. And arrogance. Weiner's return to pantless tweeting, like Edwards' affair in the middle of a campaign or Hart's daring the press to "follow me; you'll be bored," all speak to levels of poor judgment and or a clueless sense of their own invulnerability -- and that's the last thing we need in our leaders.

(70,686 posts)However, it's all cancelled out by his self-revelations afterward and no redemption, wish he would just go away.
What I learned from Bill CLINTON was that we need Dem leaders who are focused on our Dem agenda and NOT sap our energies on just defending them instead of all of us furthering our Dem agenda.

(21,786 posts)his relatively progressive stance on domestic issues doesn't make up for his hawkishly right-wing foreign policy positions (he voted for the Iraq War, and his position on Israel/Palestine would put him in the extreme right of Likud if he sat in the Knesset) or his McCarthyite tendencies (he tried to get a university professor who was critical of the Israeli government fired).
