Afghanistan? Disaster
Iraq? Disaster.
US economy? Disaster. The economy was literally crashing as he walked out the door.
US budget deficit? Disaster. It has started to improve now thanks to Obama's tax increases on the wealthy.
Health care costs? Disaster.
Is there anything Dubya touched that didn't turn to complete shit?

(66,330 posts)turned to me and said: "Is he just a complete idiot?"
This outburst was no doubt hastened by the fact that a few days earlier, we had seen Bill Clinton give a candid interview, and she was astonished by his intelligence, wit, humor, and grasp of policy nuances.
She'll never admit it, but I think she's secretly a moderate Dem...

(7,429 posts)I'm so sick of that little ditty going around right now. They act as if none of this actually happened. That this dufus was never even there. And when you mention his name - Repukes run and say you keep looking at the past. Yo dipshits - the reason the economy collapsed was because of that Mission Accomplished idiot in chief. If you don't want to acknowledge it - it isn't my fault!! We all remember and we won't forget!!

(20,166 posts)Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over'
WASHINGTON, DCMere days from assuming the presidency and closing the door on eight years of Bill Clinton, president-elect George W. Bush assured the nation in a televised address Tuesday that "our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over."
President-elect Bush vows that "together, we can put the triumphs of the recent past behind us."
"My fellow Americans," Bush said, "at long last, we have reached the end of the dark period in American history that will come to be known as the Clinton Era, eight long years characterized by unprecedented economic expansion, a sharp decrease in crime, and sustained peace overseas. The time has come to put all of that behind us."
Bush swore to do "everything in [his] power" to undo the damage wrought by Clinton's two terms in office, including selling off the national parks to developers, going into massive debt to develop expensive and impractical weapons technologies, and passing sweeping budget cuts that drive the mentally ill out of hospitals and onto the street.

I knew he was going to be a disaster for America back then, but I had no idea just how catastrophic he would be.
My naive hope back then was that we'd be able to limit him to one term, like the first Bush calamity we had to endure.

I understand Shrub wanted to shoot it after his mishap (They shoot horses, don't they?), but the keener minds of the Secret Service quietly removed and disposed of it; it's living out its golden years making the rounds in a gated community in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Jenna's seemingly-not-bright but seems sincere and a nice person. I could say mean things about Jenna Bush-Hager but let's be honest...considering her background and the train-wreck she seemed to be headed towards, she turned out well. She very well could have been a Bristol Palin.
Barbara went to Yale, shows no sign of actually sharing the family conservative ethos, shuns the spotlight and politics, and works in international NGOs. She's vocally supportive of gay rights and marriage equality; works for global health equality.
Considering that their father is a nimrod, he did well parenting apparently.
