i believe there is nothing wrong with any part of the human body on display

i also believe that pics of sex between adult humans is not necessarily obscene.

yet, i understand that most corporate human resource departments do not agree with me.

is that really that complicated an issue? separating my personal beliefs, from what i know to be employment policy for most people?

We see it demonstrated in a whole host of issues, not just this one case.

"is that really that complicated an issue?"

For simpletons and half-wits lacking the common-sense gene and the "how is that not obvious?" part of the brain, it's very, very complicated.

like, just because you don't have that type of job, doesn't mean that others don't.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

In light of the current "nipplegate" on DU, this poster is calling other members simpletons and half-wits. Can't we have just one "nipplegate" incident on DU without resorting calling each other ugly names?

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jun 12, 2014, 04:31 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Is someone having a personal issue with LanternWaste? Because I can't think of any other reason for this alert. If this ISN'T a personal issue, lighten up, Francis!
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The silliness that ensues over topics like nipples, vaginas, or foreskins is at best amusing, at worst, tiresome. This hot topic will burn itself out with usual burst of accusations and insults.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: "Simpletons" and "half-wits" used to be the names used for retarded people so, in addition to the obnoxious name calling, it is inappropriate. I'd like to see more civility on DU.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Then quit being "simpletons and halfwits". Problem solved.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

I made a reference in another thread to browsing a museum site online on your lunch hour. Being an art lover, I would do such a thing if I were still in the workplace. My specific reference was to art works depicting a madonna nursing the infant Jesus, a common meme in religious painting for several centuries. Would that ---in an of itself -- be NSFW?

DU'ers access the site in a variety of situations and the "NSFW" provides a clue that the thread may contain images that may not only be inappropriate for a work environment, but others as well. Only the individual DUer reading through threads knows what is appropriate for their environment at any given time, and having an indicator that something may be unsuitable for that environment is just common courtesy.
