General Discussion

(Although I have a few joke threads in The Lounge, I'll admit).
Not everyone lives, works and browses in an enlightened bubble. Some of us have that luxury. Others do not. And for those who don't, there can be negative consequences, or at the very least, extreme awkwardness.
Should an image of a nipple during the breastfeeding process be considered NSFW? Absolutely not. Are there people around us who might feel the image of a nipple during the breastfeeding process be considered NSFW? Absolutely yes.
Sorry, that's just how it is. Not everyone can be as open-minded as you. And while you might be tempted to say "fuck it" (sorry, NSFW language there ), it's just not that easy for everyone.
Those of you who might know me here at DU might be aware that I have a rather unhealthy obsession with one bald, white, mayonnaise loving Canadian rapper named Chuggo. (It's a weakness, an annoying one at that, I'll fully admit)
Chuggo's main claim to fame is having an extremely poorly produced, laughably bad music video called, "Ahh! C'mon Fuckin' Guy!". Check it out on Youtube if you so wish.
A couple of weeks ago here at GD, I posted the Youtube link to Chuggo's video to a fellow Chuggo enthusiast in response to one of his threads. It was alerted upon for containing vulgar, inappropriate lyrics. Ultimately, it was hidden. Now, as a Chuggologist, I was initially rather insulted. However, had someone implored me to simply add a NSFW tag on it, I would had fully understood and happily obliged. Because five seconds in to Chuggo's masterpiece and you'll immediately come into some language that undoubtedly might cause some problems for those around you. And I don't want to have to put some people in that unfortunate position.
So, yes, NSFW tags are not such a bad idea. Even if you don't think they are necessary.
And that's all I have to say about nipples.

(2,518 posts)That is easily the worst thing I have ever seen in any media ever.
Much appreciated!
I was just reading the "I was the nipple alerter" thread.
I just don't know what to say about this place anymore. DU is easily the best news aggregator on the internet. The discussions? Meh.
Human beings just pretty much suck, most of the time. It's embarrassing.

It's all good, though. More time to work on my macrame plant hangers.
