Besides, I sort of think that there must be limits on what kinds of executive orders a president can issue, and despite my personal feelings about guns, I doubt that one like that would be even remotely enforceable. Even I can think it through: Executive order to take away all guns. So how will it be enforced? Who will actually go door-to-door?

If an actual law were passed, somewhat along the lines of how it was done in Australia, that would be different.
