HEARTWARMING: Volunteers help Hospice patient see the outdoors one last time

SNOHOMISH COUNTY – Evergreen Hospice Volunteers helped one of their patients, a former park ranger, make one final trip to the outdoors.

Ed was living in an adult family home and hadn’t been outdoors for several years.

After Ed shared his wish with Hospice staff, they worked with the Snohomish County Fire District to make his wish come true.

One day, volunteers came and picked up Ed and took him to Meadowdale Beach Park in Edmonds.

It's very sad that he's dying, but what a wonderful way to spend his last days... surrounded by love and caring, by the support and generosity of good people, and by nature one last time.
