Hillary Clinton: ‘Sexism’ in 2008 Obama campaign

My problem with this encapsulates my problem with Hillary: Opportunistic and careless with truth and facts. There may have been sexism in the Obama campaign, but her example isn't exactly convincing- not to mention the obvious racism employed by the Clinton campaign in 2008.

Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday there was “sexism” in Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign that she and the president needed to get past.

“Beginning the process of working with then-Sen. Obama after I ended my campaign, we had an awkward but necessary meeting to clear the air on a couple of issues, and one of them was the sexism that — unfortunately — was present in that ’08 campaign,” Clinton told Robin Roberts on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

In her new memoir, “Hard Choices,” Clinton wrote that she rejected a request from the Obama campaign to attack Sarah Palin, who was then running for vice president.

“That very first day, the Obama campaign said, ‘Well, we want you to go out there and criticize her,’ and I said ‘For what? For being a woman? No, let’s wait until we know where she stands, I don’t know anything about her. Do you know anything about her?’” Clinton said she told the Obama campaign.

<snip>

A senior Obama campaign official said that the request for Clinton to speak was tailored specifically to Palin’s speech after McCain picked her as his running mate, in which she made a direct pitch for Clinton supporters.

there was EVIDENCE (lots of it) of racist dog whistle and even overt racist crap from the Clinton side in 2008. The charges of sexism may be true, but the evidence is slimmer.

the link you chose to put in your OP. That link is he said, she said and you believe the he for no apparent reason. If that isn't sexism I haven't a clue what it is.

A-Hem

Hillary, if you could watch five minutes of Palin, you should have found several things to criticize. A wikipedia search would have shown her positions on oil drilling, guns, and her creepy coziness with the alaska indepence movement; aka scary people with guns. Unlike many, Palin never ever attempted to hide what she was, she put it all out there in tehcnicolor for any mike that would offer her airtime.

And yet, you attack the idea of attacking the RUNNING MATE, and assume the reason we attack is because she is a woman, not the fact she is running against you and trying to put the GOP in the oval office.

YOu know, this is outright craven. We all know McCain picked Sarah not just to appeal to the angry ex Hillary Supporters, but because she was the sort of brain dead bimbo that many of the GOP thought a "real woman" should be, YOU BETCHA!

And this book is well timed so you can attract said ex hillary supporters who wanted you, who wanted you to go into syria, whothink you can save the american empire and be good for women too. Never mind the fact that your "welfare reform" attacked American women (just not the type you care about). Or that your attempts top ensure "assad must go" will help ensure the war machine rolls on.

By the way, did you clear the air about all the racist stuff your campaign did, like when your hubby said "we got mugged" just because you lost?

And if it were Hillary who would had be nominee and eventually président no doubt Clinton people woul have be seen as racist?

Come on Hillary. Stop this self victimisation play. First you told you were " broke" then you say we are sexists....

The real issue was it was not your time. Period

After hearing her defensive tone and attack mode in a Terry Gross interview, for Pete's sake, she still isn't ready. Somehow, she got the idea she is above it all. Bill Clinton would have schmoozed that exchange with a politician's touch. By nature, she is just not a politician. Whichis fine, it she wants to be president.

I was OK with a Hillary candidate until I heard her yesterday. If she's the candidate, we will lose.

Why bring this up?

She deny her campagine ver had any racism motives while fighting Obama but calls Obama and his campagin sexist?

Of course Obama would want her to attack Palin.Attacks on Palin would mean more coming from women. She gave mccain a boost.Obama
wanted win.

She needs Obama's supporters if she wants to win.She has trying to act like victim to sexist Obama.

To a point i can symthize with the broke comments due to Clinton witchhunt but they were never broke like many regural americans.
