"Obama has spent entire admin cleaning up Bush's shit, like someone with a giant pooper scooper"

Robert Reich
3 hrs ·

I'm here in Florida visiting my father, Ed Reich, who, at the young age of 100 and a half, just came up with one of the most incisive assessments I've heard of what's happened in Iraq:

"George W. Bush and the crooks he hired are responsible for this. If they hadn't lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction we wouldn't have lost nearly 5,000 American lives and god knows how many Iraqi lives, and stirred up this hornet's nest. Obama has spent his entire administration cleaning up Bush's shit, like someone with a giant pooper scooper." Dad has lived during the administrations of 17 presidents. "Bush was the worst," he says. "Reagan the second worst."

911 and the resulting "War(s)on Terror" gave us the Patriot Act, Homeland Security, NSA mass spying on Americans, secret laws, secret courts, the murder of due process and multiple Constitutional amendments, and the war on journalism, whistleblowers, and dissent.

Obama is complicit in all of these.

As far as the security state goes I believe the same one is still intact from the Bush years. And the same jokers are running the economy. Maybe B613 is running the show.

And the worst of all previous Administrations seem to be embedded in this one of Obama's, which was supposed to be about "Hope and CHANGE."

Where is the friggin' change?

He took Monsanto's poster boy, Mike Taylor, and gave him the most important department over at FDA. (Taylor was highly supported by Bill Clinton.)

He gave the economy away to his AIG/Goldman Sachs connected Good Buddy, Tim Geithner.

And his assistant secretary of defense was a hold over from the Bush administration.

Situation at VA is deplorable, and since that agency was his special assignment back when he was a junior Senator from Illinois, so you might think it would have been one he would have shown some interest in.

He could totally revamp Department of Justice and also FCC so that we the people got what we needed with regards to the drug wars and net neutrality, but he is disinclined to do that. Instead he lets Holder tell us that the change regarding drug wars need to come from Congress, where only 3 to 6% of the elected officials care to make any changes.

bush/cheney came INTO office - more accurately, STOLE THEIR WAY into office fully intending and aiming to pick a fight with Iraq. THIS President did NOT. This President was distinguished from the entire rest of the pack by his singular opposition to adventurism like Iraq. Everybody else was mush-mouthed and trying to step around the fact that they'd failed to listen to reason or try to seek out another view while they were being barnstormed and carpet-bombed by the wrong-wingers who had such stiff hard-ons for war, and then found themselves caving to it.

BIG difference. Colossal.

Obstructing has been the ONLY job the other side has taken seriously. Jobs, unemployment insurance, healthcare? Who cares? Meanwhile, the Boy King languishes somewhere (rehab, perhaps) painting portraits of his glorious, warrior like self. Dickless Cheney, and his evil spawn of a daughter spew nothing but hatred of the Obama Administration. Profits must be down, huh Dickless?

hasn't been over the top - but it is based to a large extent in understandable disappointment and disillusionment. And this is coming from a two-time Obama voter, so it's not like I don't see some good in the guy.

We expect a Repub administration to suck - that's a given, really. It's when a Dem administration appears to fall short in so many ways that the real frustration (and yes, even anger) comes to the surface.

The public would never have tolerated trials for the war criminals. Witness the way folks did not care about the illegal incursion into Cambodia but they were pissed at the Nixon's Enemies List. The domestic crimes could have been prosecuted. It was not too late to go after Bush people on Enron---now it is. And many of the people who committed war crimes were also in on the various illegal domestic economic crimes. Americans secretly want their leaders to bomb the hell out of other countries but they hate when they secretly line their own pockets. big mistake Eric Holder. Big mistake. We needed our Picora. We never got him.

has worked. Look at the damn polls. The suggestion that this media is liberal is laughable. We are now having a discussion about Barak Obama causing this mess in Iraq. It is just fucking absurd. Barak never wanted anything to do with that war. How often to do you hear a positive story about the president. It is one thing that Fox news constantly trashes and smears him, but all of the weekend talk shows do so. Hell even MSNBC. I will never forget what the media and republicans have done. The next time a republican becomes president, investigate everything....constantly talk negative about him. When you are constantly talking negative it sours people on the process and the person and drags down the favorability ratings. Where the fuck are the Democrats at. Every democrat still in office that voted against that war should be walking up to a microphone and reminding people what a horrible decision it was to go there in the first place. Fuck this bullshit.

acted like drunken frat boys for 8 years partying on their parents
credit cards. Then when the "BLACK" guy is elected to office, bush and
chenny hand him a mop and a trash bag and say good luck cleaning up this mess.

Obama has done a good job as president considering the mess he inherited from the
repubLIEcon criminals.

He could have done better, but considering who he has to work with, it's amazing
that he has got this much done in 6 years .

FUCK YOU BUSH !!!

Remembering our Discussions from 2005 on DU allot of us actually knew the true reason G.W Bush, Chaney, Rice and company went into Iraq which was never over invisible Weapons of Mass Destruction. Clearly we know today it was for Americas energy and cheap oil which actually turns out to be a Pump of the people. This agenda started during the Reagan administration when the elder bush served as VP to Regan. Later we learn of the Iran–Contra affair and of course the things which then divided H.W Bush and Ronald Reagan. As history has a tendency to do we will finally learn the entire truth about these Administrations and the "closed door agendas" to exploit the American People and our Military forces for insider profits and military contracts. Rest assured it was not an actions for the people but for the enrichment of Republican owned corporations and their business partners. These special interest groups just happen to be the same criminals fighting President Obama and Democrats now. The real tragedy today are problems left behind for Americans and the inevitable destabilization of Iraq, Ukraine and Middle East not to mention our own economy which is largely dependent on energy (Cheap Oil).

Mainly the Bush era GOP think tank agendas failed miserably and Americans are going to pay a price for their mistakes in the not too distant future with higher inflation, Gas Prices and food shortages and of course food rationing. Keep watch on the news in the days and weeks to come as food rationing (staple foods) and Gas Price increases are inevitable. FEMA has already scrambled to stockpile food reserves which is preparatory and essential for sustaining government. There are other signs of instability surfacing daily which possibly means around July 2014 things are going to change under H.R 2847 and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) which may cause severe problems with foreign trade, financial markets and the US Economy.
