Hillary Clinton and Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor at Cosco.

Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor bumped into Hillary Clinton at a Costco in Arlington, Va. on Saturday.

The former secretary of state held court at the sprawling Washington-area retailer with hundreds of supporters, signing copies of her new book, Hard Choices. Sotomayor, a D.C. resident, told reporters that she was "just shopping" when she happened to stumble upon the event.

The Supreme Court justice told Clinton that she would read her book, according to reporters on the scene.

"Well I loved yours too!" Clinton responded.

Mister "Get Over It" needs to get over the fact that he was passed over for Chief Justice...and he needs to GO.

I think Sonia looks fine. Who in hell shops in Costco dressed any way but casual? It's not like you get waited on hand and foot--you have to dress to do all the work yourself!

My take of that pic is that what the Justice is wearing would pass for formal wear in some Walmarts, but that's JMO...

I think she looks fine, perfect clothing for rummaging around a warehouse store.

I don't always tell people about that little tidbit--I know a wingnutter who LOVES Costco, and boasts about all the bargains he gets there to anyone who will listen. He's insufferable, he buys high ticket items too--computers for the kids, tires for the car, always the most expensive thing...boast, boast, boast!!!

I just love the fact that even a small percentage of the dough he spends there is going to Democratic candidates!

The Pentagon is a five sided building in Arlington VA.

Pentagon City is where the Hilton, the Mall, the Costco, and a really cool movie theater and eateries are.

I'm sure the Fashion Centre is a hotbed of warmongers....

Washington Monthly clickbait from nearly ten years ago is not "proof" of anything.

The Fashion Centre is a mall not terribly far from the Pentagon. It's a good walk if you are carrying bags of purchased goodies.

You can get a great falafel sandwich in the food court--surely that must mean that the mujehadeen meet there on a regular basis...

They're not all that far from one another, but they are entirely different enterprises. You are not getting into the Pentagon without military ID or a Common Access Card (CAC).

You can get into the Fashion Centre on your own two legs. Bring money, there's lots to buy there--or you could just ride the escalators all day!

Really, though ... it's ok, this is amusing.

I had some great bosses, and I had some complete jerks who could only feel important if they were jerking the chains of subordinates. I took great delight, with reasoned and painfully measured discourse, in denying them the pleasure! It became my goal, as I moved up in rank, to teach subordinates how to take shit and dish it back without raising the temperature. Hang in there long enough, and the person doing the goading and baiting WILL look like an ass, and it's out there for everyone to see.

And there's a commissary and AAFEES at Belvoir that is the bee's knees...they do case lot sales at the commissary on a regular basis. I used to shop there all the time when I lived in the area.

I agree with you that there are many occasions when the debates on this forum are completely out of ... well ... RIGHT field! And in some cases, obvious is ever so obvious!

I thought Sonia looked swell in her shopping ensemble--I really wonder what else she should have worn to shop at Costco--sequins and a tiara...maybe a feather boa and kitten heels? I mean, jeez...it's a warehouse!

Take a topic that is obliquely related to the post--like in this case, the location of the COSTCO being not too horribly far from the Pentagon and being sited in Pentagon City, and then drumming up a load of horseshit to distract from any conversation about the former SECSTATE and her book tour, and the well wishers, and the four hour line of customers, etc. Get anal and obsessive about the matter, be snarky, jerky and borderline crazy...lather, rinse, repeat.

Fortunately, this person hadn't met the MIRT cutoff and got the boot. I've seen others that go on and on and on and the admins have to step in. I think maybe the admins ought to consider kicking up the probationary period, doubling it or even tripling it. Make the trolls work a little harder in the run up to election season!

It seems almost coordinated. Things that make ya go hmmm!
