I need your help and expertise.

I watch CBS news in the morning when I am home. I like Charlie Rose. I watch Sunday Morning for it's variety of stories.

HOWEVER, at the end of Sunday Morning today, there was an ad for Koch Industries. I was appalled ( I tried to put an extra P for emphasis but autocorrect would not let me.). Koch Industries is the root of much of what is wrong with this country. I am horrified to see that ad. OMG there is another one on right now.

WHO KNOWS HOW TO TELL CBS TO GET THESE ASSHOLES OFF THE AIR????????

It mentions that "You may not see our name on products", I make an effort to find out and avoid their products.

I am so angry that I can barely type.

HELP!!! I know there are well connected and smart people on this site.

2. Television outlets will sell air time to pretty much anyone who has the money.

They do not generally make altruistic decisions that costs them revenue.
Sounds like the Kochs are trying to get themselves looking favorable and kindly before the upcoming elections.

5. What, you think CBS isn't part of Corporatia, just like the other networks?

C'mon! It's owned by Westinghouse! CBS is arguably MORE entrenched in the Military/Industrial Complex than the Disney and News Corp owned networks. Just a little gentler on the surface, maybe, but it's still a network owned by an arms dealer.

It might be time to consider pulling the plug and stop watching that crap.

I was thinking before I got to your comment, "You're watching CBS and you're wanting to boycott Koch Bros products?"

I watch CBS, but I do it for the same reason that I read conservative blogs. It is important to know what the other side is thinking. Keeping one's head in the sand and simply trying to pretend that other arguments and opinions do not exist is folly.

9. I find it's easier to "know what the other side is thinking"...

...by logging in to DU. And elsewhere on the internet. That way it takes much less time, and I don't have to deliver my eyeballs to the networks' advertisers.

10. I don't think so

Then you know what our side thinks the other side is thinking, or how our side interprets the other side, or exaggerations about the other side, or even lies about the other side.

When military intelligence wants to know what the enemy is doing it doesn't ask other intelligence agencies, and it doesn't look at our own military, it goes and looks at what the enemy is doing. Well, okay, that's what it should do. Our intelligence is so fubar that it simply looks up its own ass, but...

8. I saw that a few weeks ago. I had heard that they were donating to PBS but hadn't actually

seen the list. I don't know what can be done to stop the complete take over of the media. They are trying to take over the internet also, and so long as there is no regulation on media ownership, it's only going to get worse.

Donors could stop donating as a protest, but the Kochs will simply donate more.

Edited to correct CBS to PBS which is where I saw the Kochs on the donor list.

11. Donating to CBS?

Corporations don't take donations. Its called buying advertising. If other "donors" stopped "donating" it would mean that other advertisers would stop buying advertising and you would see a lot more Koch Bros advertisements. I'm not sure what your objective is here.
