It won't be my choice, necessarily, it will be because that's who currently wears the D that they've decided to run. As a good little sheep, no matter how much they may suck, it's better than the other option.

I assume this is a question in regards to the presidential nominee.

Even a bad (in my estimation) Democrat is far superior to any republican--ANY.

why they know that they can openly accept campaign contributions from vested interests, why they can vote for wars and legislation that is against the interests of the working class. They know that no matter what they do you will hold your nose and reelect them. No matter how badly they screw you over, you will not throw them out.

At least with a Democrat, I will always get some of what I want done. With ANY republican, nothing I want is done, and everything I abhor is emphasized.

Half a loaf is better than none.

If you want better Democratic candidates, work hard in the primaries to get what you want.

Which you could get if you demanded it.

Republicans vote for non-incumbents in primary elections, Democrats never do because the challenger might not be as "electable," and Democrats are not willing to risk losing an election to prove our principles.

"At least with a Democrat, I will always get some of what I want done."

We voted Democrat in 2006, and how much of ending the war in Iraq did we get done? We got the opposite, and we reelected them in 2008. And we wonder why they don't pass the legislation we want them to pass.

Antichoice "Democrats" can go fuck themselves with chainsaws.

I have as yet never been able to vote for a candidate that never spoke against my own personal civil rights in great detail while claiming God agreed with them. I expect each election cycle to involve complex messages against me, my family, my community.
I've never voted for a Presidential candidate who had not already insulted me six ways while pandering to every other group in America.
The American election process is alienating and divisive and that is a huge part of why so many eligible to vote simply don't participate. Who can blame them, it is a nasty, nasty creature.

I moved to a state where a Democrat is really a liberal Republican (Pa compared to Md)

On edit: and that was BEFORE Republicans became clowns and crazies.

I understand being full of idealism and youthful enthusiasm, but over the years I've learned a bit about pragmatism. There will NEVER be a President you agree with on every single issue, so you have to do your damn best to elect the candidate who will agree with you on more issues than the other guy. ANY Democratic candidate will be above 75% or so for most people on DU, and any GOPer candidate will be well below 30%. I'll take 75% over 30% any day of the week, and contribute to their campaign to boot.
