The influence of Genghis Khan in the Middle East..

There is something going on in the middle east that reminds one of the marches of GK.. Not only in Iraq, but in Pakistan and other regions .. there is a movement to terrify locals by Taliban out-shoots (who were NOT in Iraq prior to the war by the way).. The Sunni and Shia rift is something that those of us in the West do not really seem to comprehend .It has been ongoing since the death of Muhammad over 600 years ago..The simplistic notion that we can go in and settle this is frightening. The rift is too strong, and has roots that have nothing to do with religion at this point but culture...

Using U Tube to show soldiers being brutalized and killed is like GK beheading people and sending the heads into villages.. it so terrified the locals that they did not stand up to the unified Mongol tribes.
