The Psychopathology of Police Violence

Every day, news stories are emerging concerning the latest barbaric act on the part of America’s law enforcement; acts which the perpetrators carry out with apparent immunity from any kind of reprimand, let alone prosecution. Sometimes these actions are relatively mild but nevertheless bring to light the complete lack of compassion from the officers involved "

Other incidents include far more serious acts of brutal violence and sexual assault, the footage often depicting police officers seeming to enjoy the beatings meted out on innocent members of the public, making no exceptions for age, race or gender. "

*As more and more incidents such as these occur and the general public come to realise that the very people who are supposed to be protecting them are in fact the worst kind of criminals able to function without fear of prosecution, mass protests will occur with greater frequency. Peaceful protests demonstrate the immense failings of a political system unwilling to address this growing problem, and as the protests in Albuquerque have already demonstrated, those involved come from all walks of life."

*In many quarters there are strident calls for more thorough and comprehensive screenings of potential officers in order to reduce the number of psychopaths donning uniforms and patrolling the streets. But as much as intensive screenings geared towards identifying candidates with psychopathic tendencies might go some way to reducing their numbers within the police ranks, it is the fundamental nature of the job itself which needs to be radically overhauled"

We can say we want something more powerful than the police to keep them in check but then the power mongers will divert their attentions to this new institution.

Whatever chains you would put on another you will one day have to wear yourself.

I haven't heard of one politician addressing the problem of police brutality. Do they even care? I'm really starting to wonder.

Every law the hucksters pass is them giving one more set of orders to the police on when they, the politicians, want us beaten and jailed. Do you really think the politicians give a rip about us? We're units of labor or tax revenue or, if we're lucky, voting blocs, to be herded, managed and controlled. They don't read policies proposals by the people, they read massaged statistics from push-polls.

We sure as hell aren't free citizens in a representative democracy. Politicians? Save us? No offense, neighbor, but that's pretty naïve.

I searched for politicians against police brutality on all the major search engines and also youtube and nothing came up. I just don't know.
