on Iraq or are they now just trying to deflect the blame away from themselves now? Is this a rationalization on their part going on now to make themselves feel better about themselves? Are they kidding themselves?
I know this is naive - but sometimes people believe in their decisions to the point that no matter what anyone else says about the decisions they made - they believe they did the right thing.
When I see the likes of the BushCo administration on the cable news shows or read their op-eds - they aren't letting even a sliver of doubt come between their decisions when they were in power to the situation as it is now. They are doubling down.
Do they really believe they were right - or - do they know that they screwed things up and made all the wrong decisions and they just are trying to paper things over and make themselves look good? Is trying to change history a conscious decision they are making? Are they doing this intentionally and think that the American People can't see through this?
Do they still keep in contact with each other so that they all get the same basic story out to the MSM? Is there collusion on their part going on now? Are they doing this deliberately? Is this an 'honor amongst thieves' thing going on?
Is this all a part of making President Obama look bad in hopes that he has a failed presidency? Is this strictly political on their part and they are just trying to do anything they can in order to get the power back and once again win the presidency in 2016?

A lot of them are influenced by the amorality of Ayn Rand and Leo Strauss (an advocate of telling "the noble lie" in the interest of maintaining power: http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Noble_lie).
