Horace Silver has died

The legendary jazz pianist passed away today at age 85 from natural causes.

Check out this great performance of his classic tune "Song for my Father" to get an idea of his greatness:

One of the great pianists. When I was in my early 20s in the early 1970s we used to play Song For My Father all the time in my jazz combo. It remains one of the essential tunes in any jazz player's repertoire.
