Texas man admits abducting, brutally beating a gay man

A Texas man pleaded guilty to a kidnapping charge, admitting that he abducted and brutally beat a gay man he met through an online service. For some reason, prosecutors agreed to drop a hate crime count even though the victim was targeted for being homosexual.

According to WFAA, 19-year-old Brice Johnson could be sentenced to up to life in prison and fined up to $250,000 for the abduction of a man court documents identify only as “A.K.” The victim’s name is Arron Keahey and he met Johnson on a mobile app called MeetMe.

According to an affidavit, Armstrong used social media to invite the victim to his home on Sept. 2, 2013. Once there, Johnson beat him because of his sexual orientation then threw the victim is his own car trunk. Keahy was beaten so badly that he had to be hospitalized for 10 days after suffering multiple skull and facial fractures.

On Sept. 10th last year, Johnson was arrested. In a jailhouse phone call with a family member, Johnson allegedly said that the assault had been “a joke that went too far.” “I invited this guy over, right, at first it was basically like a joke that went too far and too wrong,” Johnson said, according to court documents. “I invited him over because he was a fag or whatever.”

Cruel people live in every state in the Union as well as the Whole Wide World.

It is a shame that this behavior exists but it does and blaming or cursing an individual state is beyond the pale.

yeah right.

This is Texas saying go ahead target homosexuals, kidnap and beat them and we will not charge you with a hate crime.

Like usual Texas justice will turn a blind eye to those who really need justice.

Just like they have been doing to black and brown victims of crime in Texas for decades, homosexuals are just another group that will be treated like shit in Texas and denied justice.

That sort of bigoted law sends a message to other even more cruel people that it is acceptable to mistreat LGBT people. Because it is legal to mistreat us there.
