I am so glad you asked this, I was reluctant to post what I was pretty damn sure I heard, was trying to find if there had been any reference to this comment elsewhere just to confirm I heard what I heard because of it's, imo, clear racist implication.

He used the phrase "contrasting colors" and his supporters began to clap right after he used that phrase, it was appalling.

"Santorum stressed the need to nominate a candidate who can present a contrast to Obama, saying “If we’re going to win this race we can’t have little differences between our nominee and president Obama. We have to have clear contrasting colors.”

The article isn't calling any attention to this which, given it is ABC after all, isn't surprising.

He said "anti-war gov't nig" caught himself and babbled some BS to finish up the sentence.

I posted about the non response last week:

Well except maybe for the anti-war government nig.... Or the Goon Zimmerman spotted.

We should start a pool to see how he gets out of this one..

I'm betting on.. Collar. Yeah that's it he didn't say color he said Collar!

Edit: I just did what Ricky's press guy is doing right now.. I went to the Internet Rhyme Zone. Here are some other options:

Brawler
Crawler
Caller
Hauler

Wow when he fucks up he needs to do better, it's really hard to rhyme color.

but if these repeated remarks about color and race are coming out of his subconscious, it's pretty revealing.

referring to viewpoints. Metaphor. He said they have to have clear, contrasting colors with the opposing party, not little differences.

He wasn't referring to race. He's talking about himself and Romney, who are both white, so there would be no difference between Santorum and Romney as the nominee, if he were referring to race.

apart from all of that--why was he waving what appeared to be a cellphone around when he was talking about the declaration and the constitution?
